Intro to Amazon Web Services – AWS Beginners Guide
AWS beginners guide
My experience with AWS
Features Of Amazon Web Services
1.Pricing Model – AWS offers a great pricing model which is “Pay as you go” which means we don’t need to pay any heavy upfront fees. Most of the services on AWS you can use for free with the help of AWS Free Tier within certain limits.
2.Elastic Computing – AWS provides elastic computing which means you can grow your computing power according to your needs. let’s assume you are running a website which is getting normal traffic but in future if traffic increases on the website you can increase the computing power to handle the traffic with the help of AWS very easily.
3.Security – You don’t need to worry about the security of your data, AWS Infrastructure is built in a way to ensure customer privacy and all your data is stored in highly secure AWS data centers.
4.Support – The support of AWS is very good, you will find lots of resources on the internet regarding AWS services. AWS also offers different resources like their start-up guide and knowledge center.
Create an account with AWS
Let’s get started by creating and setting up your account on AWS, to create an account you need to go to AWS official website
and signup. The process is simple just fill your basic details like email, password and contact information but be careful while entering your mobile number because it will be verified during the signup process. You also need to set up a payment method which can be set up by entering your debit or credit card details (don’t worry you won’t be billed if you use Free Tier) and that’s it. Your account will be activated within 24 hours (mostly it is activated immediately ). Once your account is activated, sign in to your account and have a look at the products tab don’t get overwhelmed just have a look around. We will continue in the next post on how to host your website absolutely free on EC2.
After creating the account let me know in the comments what you guys think of this AWS beginners guide and don’t forget to check out next post – Creating Your First EC2 Instance – Intro To EC2.
